Guided tour of Abbaye D’Aubazine and lunch at Le St Hilaire

At 2.30 pm we will head to the ABBAYE D’AUBAZINE
(7 minutes away from the restaurant)
It is a 12th Cistercian abbey with many rooms and floors, around the cloister: the scriptorium, the chapter , the kitchen, the dormitory on the first floor, the floor of which is covered with an incredible adobe and its monumental staircase worn down by the centuries and a terrace on a fishpond.
The Aubazine abbey also houses many treasures unique in the world (12th century stained glass, furniture, and the Aubazine tomb)
Finally, the abbey which was previously an orphanage, was the home to the abandoned Coco Chanel and her sisters. You will see the stained glass window that inspired her to create the interlocking C’s logo of the Chanel fashion empire we know today.
