Six essential things to do after Baby is born!

As well as being filled with happiness and excitement, the first weeks after your baby arrives can be daunting and exhausting and the last thing you need to be worrying about is administration!

However, it needn’t be stressful – we are here to help if necessary.

Here is what needs to be done :

  • The birth needs to be registered within 5 working days at your local town hall ( Some hospitals offer a registration service.)
  • Add your child to your Carte Vitale – you can do this online via your Ameli account.
  • Declare the birth at your CAF office – Caisse Allocation Familiale ( for family allowance.)
  • Inform your Mutuelle insurance that your baby has been born.
  • Apply for paternity leave (time limits apply.)
  • Tell your tax office so they can adjust your file.
