New government mobile app is launched

‘AGORA,CITOYENS & GOUV’ is a new mobile app which enables the public to communicate directly with the government by asking questions about, or expressing their opinions on, certain subjects and policies proposed by ministers.

According to the Ministry for Democratic Renewal, one of the aims of the Agora app is to involve the French more closely in the major decisions that affect them. It should enable everyone to express their choices and expectations regarding the public policies in place.

Agora users can give their opinion on subjects submitted by the government. Each month, an average of 4 consultations will be proposed. A consultation lasts 4 weeks; you can send a maximum of one question per week and indicate support for an unlimited number of questions put forward by other users.

Each week a government spokesperson will respond (via a video posted on the app) to the question that has attracted the most support. Users can then indicate whether or not, in their opinion, the minister has really answered the question adequately.

The application is still fairly new and enhanced features will be added in the coming weeks and months.
