Information about Children Travelling Abroad.

When travelling abroad, children who are French residents now need an autorisation de sortie du territoire’ (AST). Click on the link to read more.

Those children who have non-EU nationality and are French residents who leave France, for example school trips, need to have in their possession a free document called an ‘autorisation de sortie du territoire’ (AST) if they are not accompanied by a parent or grandparent.

To determine if you need to complete one of these forms for your child click here

Should you need an AST then one of the child’s parents must complete a form that can be downloaded

This form requires key identity and contact details for both parent and child including parent’s passport details.

The child must keep a copy of the completed form when they travel, as well as a photocopy of their parent’s passport and of course their own passport.
