If you are having problems with your internet or telephone connection you can now report this online, get information on the issue and find out how it may be resolved. The quality of service is monitored by ARCEP, an independent authority for Electronic Communications and Press Distribution. The service is available to individuals, communities and companies alike and is called “J’alerte l’Arcep” (I’m Alerting Arcep) and you can sign up here.
Users’ feedback on the problems they are facing enables Arcep to optimise how it can best take action. When a significant number of alerts about the same malfunction is identified, Arcep can contact the operator to ensure that they are aware of the problem and that they are working towards a solution. This can also help identify ways in which the system can be streamlined to tackle the real everyday issues faced by internet users. In some cases, proceedings against an operator may be initiated; your alert adds to the evidence that can be used to identify the problem. More information on how the service works can be seen here.
