Changes to Pôle Emploi

From the start of 2024, Unemployment offices (previously known as ‘Pôle Emploi’) will gradually be phased out and replaced by the new public unemployment entity (‘France Travail’) in a bid to fulfil the full employment law which came into force on 18th December last year. The Pôle emploi website will become www.francetravail.fr in February 2024. The new reform aims to provide an improved support structure for jobseekers. The new changes include :

  • A support structure tailored to the jobseeker’s needs
  • Improved access to employment for disabled workers
  • Plans for childcare solutions to facilitate a return to work for parents

The conditions for the payment of unemployment benefit remain unchanged, but from now on it will be allocated and paid for by France Travail. For a full explanation and more details, please see here.
